I'm looking to upgrade my tent for next year (currently got a Vango Beta 450) great tent, but its low down (not good when your 6'3!!)

So my question is can anyone recommend a good tent that has plenty of head room and something with 2/3 rooms and a main room?

Thanks

Any quality canvas frame tent. There's some real bargains to be had out there right now, & you can't beat good old canvas.

Family sized tents with 2/3 bedrooms tend to have ample standing height.

We have an Oakland XL and you would have no problem with head height in that in both the main area and the bedrooms. It is a 2 bedroom with a separate main area and is a great tent. The 2012 version has got some good upgrades and next year you can also get an enclosed awning for it too (previously could only get open side or front extensions).

Take a look at the Kampa range - tall, high quality tents at relatively affordable prices, especially when you consider the following: Kampa's Ultimate range "feel the difference" tents are 100 denier flysheets and thicker materials all round. Makes a heavier tent but have been shown in year round tent displays to survive 3 to 4 times longer under UV degradation than 75 denier tents (such as the polyester Outwells, Vangos, and essential range (75 denier) Kampa tents - which have a projected total life of 6 months UV exposure). The materials are also more robust to wear and tear.

Kampa are a high quality, low volume manufacturer that deals with smaller retailers, so you won't see them at Go Outdoors etc, but certainly worth a look.

Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
