Hi All

Happy New Year.

Looking to purchase a new weekend tent which is easy to erect 20/30 mins with sig. Two parents plus two small children (5&3yrs - in fact happy to exchange kids for new tent!). It is down to these two tents which seem to be discounted to about the same price at the moment for 2011 models.

The size seem the same, features almost identical but Outwell seem to be far more popular;is this down to marketing or is their a quality issue btwn. the two brands? Also we may look in the future to add a porch/canopy for the British summer.

Any advice/opinions or intimate experience of the two would be greatly received. Thanks in advance.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

It's a bit of a mystery why the Nevada is so much better known than the Gelert equivalent. Outwell tents are certainly very popular but Gelert is also a reputable brand. But AFAIK Outwell is a bigger company and so probably spends more on marketing.

I don't know what front extensions are available for Gelert tents but add-ons are an area where Outwell scores well. For instance, they do a two-bay front extension for the Nevada M that effectively doubles the living space.

If you choose the Nevada let me know because I have a 2011 one (with accessories) which is virtually unused and which I might be selling.
