Hi,
me and my partner went looking at tents last week, we fell in love with the Royal athens 6. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/2592
We like the fact it has the large wet room on the front and the layout etc.
Does anyone know if Royal are any good for tents and is this tent worth the £509 we saw it for?
Or can anyone recommend any other family tents along the same design but not too expensive like the outwells.
Thankyou.

Cant comment on the latest Royal tents but the earlier ones like the Biaritz were very good tents

I'd be interested in any comments on this too (thanks arsenaldes for yours); we are in the same position, are very close to buying the Athens 6. It seems to tick all the boxes for us in terms of layout etc, and the girls have fallen in love with it. I personally also like the Kampa Studland 8 but it doesn't have a separate enclosed wet/kitchen/porch area, and is more expensive.
You can buy the Vestibule for it though which we did with out Kampa Croyde best of both worlds can have it open or closed.
Dont think you will get any reviews on the Royal for a while as I believe its new for this season, but if you buy from a reputable dealer they should sort out any problems should you encounter any

Hello ianhappy
We have bought the Athens 6,footprint and carpet, and purchased from SKCamping... Unfortunately due to the rubbish weather it hasn't even been out the bag yet....hoping for a dry day soon as we are desperate for a trial run before we go to Pevensy on the jubilee weekend...we loved the layout, and space it gives us as a family of 4,plus a dog,we originally looked at a vango airbeam(eternity)but I am sure this will suit us better....it is bulky though and comes in two bags, the main bag doesn't have wheels,so is heavy, the second bag has the poles, also the pegs are your standard metal ones,so we will purchase some heavy duty ones at some point...
We will update when we have a chance to get it up...

We have a Royal Atlanta 6 . This is the new model but ours is the older blue one. We have been out in rain, sun and moderate winds although havn't had to test it in really windy conditions yet thank goodness and we have had no issues with the quality or design.
The seams are all well taped and the material is good quality compared to some makes. Royal have thought of nice little extras such as storage pockets and layouts are very practical. The Royal tent carpet that we bought with it is really good quality and nice and thick.
Ours is really easy to pitch and all poles are colour coded. We are still very happy with our tent. If you like the design and layout and you can afford the price tag then go for it. I would definately recommend buying a footprint and carpet aswell and would recommend researching the best price and buying online as you can get some really good deals doing this. This one is the cheapest Athens 6 I could see today and its free delivery!
