They have released them here I see, but OMG at the prices and they are going for £335 and almost £10 delivery on ebay and someone has bought 1 already, be cheaper getting it delivered direct from Decathlon.
I really want 1 but no way am I paying those prices, cant believe how much Decathlon has bumped all their prices this year!
I'd be interested to see the light. If the light is replaceable it might be a good buy, otherwise you're just going to have a tent with a broken light someday...and is it really that hard to hang a battery operated light up?
I'll be honest and say that buying a tent with integrated lighting seems an expensive option and just another component that could go wrong. As for the cost on top being an extra £60.... that's plain mad in my opinion.
Not sure what Decathlon were thinking with this idea, I think keeping lighting separate from the tent as a positive advantage! People all prefer different lighting methods and types for a start.
I cant but help think its (the Illumin idea in general) aimed more at the first time camper or festival goers perhaps?
Got to step inside an XL a few days ago at Decathlon and it was quite nice, the only thing that would drive me mad is that even at the highest point of the tent, I could never stand straight up, I had to lean forward to stop my head hitting the top.
The old style 4.2 I have has a smaller living area, but I can stand upright** in the centre of the living area which makes it feel larger than it is. It was interesting stepping into one, right from the other to compare them.
Both lovely tents though, a shame to see prices have hiked up however.
**For reference I am a pretty modest 6'1" tall. Yes, the extra inch matters! lol

Planned for next year, hopefully!
Summer Solstice wild camp.
Chilled in a Field, July.
Crantock, August. Fouth year with the fantastic Quechua Base Seconds 4.2!
..... and the odd night wild camping in my Argos 1 man tent...
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
The older 4.2 atko you maybe got for £149 last year but the newer seconds family 4.2xl are easier to put down as no folding corners in its more like an accordion and I dont think they were ever under £200, I paid £219 for mine when 1st released in late 2010/early 2011.
Im guessing for me its another way of space saving and im never satisfied with the lights I get anyways. Overall I like the darker colour better as the beige shows up everything.
