Hi, I've bought one of these second hand & love it. But I was just wondering if anyone else had one that could help me.

The main problem I see with it, is that on in the middle of either side of the sleeping area (Outside part) There are no pegging holes. So when the wind picks up, it just keeps blowing the sides about & also can let water get on the ground sheet. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this just a design fault? Tempted to sew some loops on each side to stop it happening.

Also the other thing I would like to know is how do you set the footprint out? Do you use one peg to go through the main tent loop & then through the footprint hole? Or 1 peg for the tent & another for the footprint? As I cant ever seem to get the tent to sit just over the footprint :S

Thanks

My Mojave 5 doesn't have a pegging point on the front, allowing the wind underneath. It's easily remedied by 'clingons', which are basically clips with a hole in so you can attach a guy or peg. You can get them several places, I got a generic brand set (exactly the same) from Yeomans. Just make sure you don't peg it too tight or put too much strain in the area and you'll be fine.
Personally I peg out the footprint and then add the tent, it stops it blowing up in the breeze, but people do things differently.

Hi, thanks for the info. That sounds like the items I need. Couldn't find the ones you get but found these Clingons
I guess they are all the same but they look like they will do the trick :)

Yeah I pegged it both ways but just having issues trying to get the footprint to fit correctly without it showing.

Yes, thats the sort of thing. Footprints can be a bit of a pain. If all else fails you can tuck it underneath, providing there are no edges showing for the rain to run onto it and beneath the tent you should be ok. For one of my tents I have a square groundsheet which I fold to fit underneath, it's been fine so far.

Cool, well thanks for your help. I will get some of them & try them out on my next trip.
Yeah, tucking it in is what I've been doing. Just wasnt sure if I was doing something wrong.
