Quite a few people have posted that they like the Vango Airbeam because it goes up quickly. However when you look at most videos and demonstrations the tent is laid out and ready to inflate the tubes.

The videos I’ve seen have two people inflating the tent (not sure if the tent comes with two pumps or is this an extra purchase...?). So the only time saving must be inserting the poles? Guying out the tent and filling it with your own equipment will be the same..?

Anyway I came across the tipi tent at Taunton leisure and it is erected by one person in 8min 37 seconds from start to finish (including getting the tent out of the bag and laying it out). The actual insertion of the pole – which is the same stage as the Airbeam videos, is less than 1 minute by one person which has got to be quicker than an Air beam tent...?

Can you find a quicker to erect tent than the Airbeam...?

Do you get spare inner tube pole section in case of a puncture/failure or is it just a case of come home if the inner tube pole fails..?

Hi mcguire6078

You always have words of wisdom but I would like to say that Tipi style tents are very quick but they are not really like for like with normal shaped family tents. The space inside I find not as usable...

I do agree though that with practice etc something like the Nevada m can be pitched very quickly, in fact im feeling a challange coming on....

Nevada M pitching challenge.....You may have started some thing now Gary!

Saw one of these Tipi's in Cornwall over the BH week, withstood some crazy weather with ease.

Thats why so many people have opted for the bell tents - fully erected in 15 minutes

i think its pegging and guying that really takes the time on most tents, takes me about 15 mins to lay out footprint and get the tent 'up' but at least that again to guy out and peg down insert bed pods find all the little fiddly bits etc.

always takes way longer to put down!

The Coleman Instant 4 goes up quicker - but sadly it gets mixed reviews - almost bought the Tourer version today but something in the back of my head said no (oh yes, it was the wifes hand ).

Came on here and looked at the reviews of the Instant 4 and now I don't know what to look at.
