We have a Frinton 5, great tent but with current weather conditions, question it's flexibility without an enclosed canopy option.
Has anyone resolved this by using an alternative porch?
Thanks

Do you have the front canopy....? They are quite deep so in most situations will stay dry unless the wind and rain are blowing into it.

No I don't have the canopy, but thats useful to know thanks about the depth, as we had wondered. Unfortunately when we go away it always seems to be wet and very windy, so why we are after an enclosed option. Did contact Kampa, but the tent is now discontinued so nothing to offer there.

We tried this lash up using a kyham windbreak that has a sun canopy, with the canopy part clipped to the end leg/frame of the tent canopy wsing some plastic spring clips that i got from poundland. The set up worked well - it stopped the wind from affecting the cooker; i'm not sure how it would hold up if the wind was blowing strongly.

The second thing I did was to take the centre guy from the end of the main tent and attach it to the top of a king pole that I then guyed down to the ground with 2 cords. This lifted the tent guy up out of the way under the canopy allowing us to walk around the canopy without needing to step over or stoop under the tent guy and it gave us somewhere to hang out wet towels etc

That looks very ingenious! Thank you for your photo and detailed explanation of how it all fits together. Definitely food for thought, thank you for taking time to respond
