We have a Colorado 5 (2011) which is a great tent and stood up to 20mph winds with 30-40mph gusts in Robin Hoods Bay last year, but predictably Outwell never released an awning or canopy in orange, instead, discontinuing the year after.
A side extension for both the blue Magic and front canopy for a previous blue Colorado 5 were made which are the same dimensions, but as with most things finding one is like finding a needle in a haystack.
The Colorado 5 is 350 wide, 200 high, the closest I can find of the same year is a Salinas L (355 wide, 220 high).
The closest dimensions for this years tents are the Oakland XL (370 wide, 220 high), Glendale 5 (360 wide, 220 high) and the Birdland 5 (360 wide, 205 high), so there are awnings and canopy options available, but obviously the current Outwell trend seems to be green.
Full Colorado 5 dimensions
Colour is immaterial because of the lack of other options, so my problem is which one will be the best fit for width and height and of height and width, which is more important to get closest to the mark?
The available extensions/awnings and any problems I can think of are;
Maui Reef front extension - similar colour - 360 wide, 230 high
Also looks like it has a different profile as it looks more rounded when I look at a Maui reef against a Colorado 5
Salinas L awning (2011) - green - 365 wide, 220 high
Oakland XL awning - 380 wide, 200 high
We'd prefer an awning for the extra security if anything, but if an extension is the only option, then so be it.
So, any suggestions based on those listed above? Or does anybody have any other suggestions of suitable awnings or extensions?
As a consideration, there's a Salinas L awning in the classified section at the moment, not a million miles away from where I live, so would this be an acceptable solution considering the differences in height and width?

Hi
Think you may have to go it alone on this one, personally I would go for the cheapest option to try it out, dont limit yourself to Outwell as you may find one from another manufacturer that will fit or put a side extension on it.
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I was hoping somebody might have an idea with a bit more knowledge than I do, maybe give an insight or a helping hand (or big shove ) in the right direction. All I can go off at the moment is actual dimensions, rather than personal experience of mixing and matching manufacturers and models
As it stands, I think we're going to plump for a Salinas L awning and see how it goes as it's the *closest* dimension wise to our Colorado. The others I've looked at are either far too wide or probably too high - If the Salinas L doesn't work or fit very well, probably sell on ebay and try again to get something else...
Thanks for the reply and suggestions though, much appreciated.
