We have just comeback from a week in our new tent. The Vango Midas is a great tent, very easy to put up & take down,(unlike our previous tent Outdoor Revolution) with lots of room. We have looked on-line but not found much about this tent, but would recommend it to anyone.

I'll second that, I got one just before Easter for myself and the two dogs as my other one wasn't tall enough for me to stand up in properly. I just love the Midas, it has more features than my smaller tent, loads of space and dead easy for me to put up on my own

We also got the side canopy, it gives you so much room and so easy to put up. Have been told these tents where originally for scouts so reason easy to put up, not 100% sure if that's right, as no info about this tent can be found???

Hi Tigermouse, I meant info as reviews and things like that, when you consider it's a 3 year old model there's not much out there about it like other 3 year old tents, that's all, but could be like been told was made for scouts. It doesn't even come up on Vango's own web site.
Tbh I can't see that reading a review of it would make much difference - if you have all the relevant details of size and features etc and it suits your purposes - which it must do as you've just been singing its praises - then does it really matter why or for whom it was originally made?
I did come across this on Amazon -

Having always been against hulking great family tents, I finally relented and agreed to this as a compromise. And I'm very glad I did.
Two sleeping areas either side of a large, standing-height living area makes for a really good layout, while both side flaps are shielded with a zip-down insect net. Combined with the integral ground sheet, this meant we were able to avoid getting bitten too badly, despite being in the highlands at the height of midge season.
Frankly, with a toddler in tow, I think a week away would have been a real struggle in our old tent (wonderful and light though it is). And the wee man enjoyed having his own room.
Very easy to pitch and my only gripe (apart from having to buy a family tent at all) was how difficult it was to pack away again. I'm sure it gets easier with practice, but some packing suggestions would have been useful.
I have to agree that it isn't easy to get back into its bag but it can be done if folded and rolled properly, though I think it's the case with most tents that they never go back the way they came out!
