Currently considering this tent as an upgrade from a Beta 450. From what I've read it seems to be a solid tent for the price and the availability of a footprint, carpet and (possibly) extension seem good points.
Just wondering about sizing: this will mainly be used as a weekend tent for two, but occasionally for three (2 adults and child) for a week or so in the summer. Are the sleeping pods large enough for two to sleep comfortably? II have seen the Birdland 5 which has sleeping pods for 3 and 2 but that tent is a bit on the large side.
A second question: how long do modern tents such as this tend to last? Would it be reasonable to expect 8 to 10 years if it were used for say 20 nights per year? Or is that over optimistic
Thanks for reading :)

Swim, I expect to get about 2 years out of my polyester/nylon tents but then again I am averaging a lot more than 20 nights a year (more like 70). It will also depend on how much degradation the material suffers from sunlight (hahaha up here its not a problem!)
So for you, 8 years might be realistic.
I have a 3 man Oakland, which is like the birdland 3 but back to front if that makes sense! I use it solo as the sleeping pod would be tight for 2 so I would imagine your birdland 4 would be fine for 2 adults and a child.
Bear in mind there is only one door and it slopes so a canopy would be a good investment
Are you still looking to purchase a birdland 4? I'm selling mine as I now have a caravan. Only used for 3 weekends last year; as new condition. It would definitely be suitable for 2 adults and a child. Very roomy and Outwell quality you can't go wrong. Email me at anne at acusmartpa.co.uk if you're interested.
