I loaned my son my trusty old Sunncamp dome tent. He returned it, sadly lacking the poles (don't ask).
it's an old model that isn't made anymore, so we can't get the actual pole kit for it, but I have access to a large stock of fibreglass poles that could be used. I just need to know how critical it is to get poles of the same diameter/section length as the originals, or if you can get away with using slightly over/under size alternatives? it's a cracking wee tent and I'd hate to chuck it away if it can be repaired. I think the model was a Sunncamp Tourist Plus 6XP

The poles need to be the same length as before but they don't need to be the same diameter exactly. Bear in mind that the tent was engineered to a certain spec, and it would probably need poles of a similar diameter to make it as strong as before. If you need to find out how long the poles need to be, use something flexible like a piece of string, start at a pin, bring it up the pole sleeve, down the seam on the other side and down to its corresponding pin. Allow a little extra, you need a small hacksaw to cut a flexible pole, and you would need to string them with flexible elastic as well. Tent Spares is a good website.
