Hi we have just had a fab weekend away in our old Vango Aspen 700 for the last time.......it is up for sale and I want something easier to put up.
Can anyone recommend a large tunnel tent 7 or 8 man that is easy to put up? (Not airbeam)
I like the bedroom arrangement of the Aspen where all bedrooms are at the back with living area in fron rather than vis a vis rooms......
Thinking Coleman or Vango or Kampa which is a new brand since we last looked?
Thanks all

Hi
You wont go far wrong with a Kampa Croyde, a lot of tent for your money and decent quality. There are also some Kampa Studland Classic polycotton tents around at decent prices and if you can live with a 6 berth then have a look for a Kampa Filey 6 Classic polycotton.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I keep looking at the Kampa Croyde 8 :-) Looks lovely and roomy.....just wondering if me and hubby can put it up easily......
We now only use the Aspen when there is a group of us all to put it up lol!

Hi
Yes pretty easy to pitch all poles are the same length. We had the Croyde 6 and I could easily pitch that on my own and the 8 only has one more pole. Cross Camping pitching the Kampa Filey 6 video on YouTube is the easiest way to do it. The built in front canopy is the real selling point on the Croydes

Gelert Corvus 6 + 2, lovely tent, bedrooms for 6 people at the back with an additonal one that can be put up at the side. Lovely big living area, light and airy with big windows and easy to put up.

Never condisdered a Galert but I am liking the look of that one :-) Thanks
We'd not considered them either 3 years ago when we walked into our camping shop and into one of these, there was no going back, had ours 3 years now and love it, even when there's only the two of us going!

Have to agree with alibali65, the Vermont XLP is a great tent & easy to erect.
There`s only 2 of us and we have just bought one as our first tent.
It`s not cheap but is better quality than more economically priced tents.
whenever making a major purchase i am always reminded of this quotation:
"The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten" - Sir Henry Royce
Might be worth mentioning to hubby, can remind him that better quality will last longer!

Because if you do it today & enjoy it, you can do it again tomorrow!
We have a large tent, Vango Salonga 900. 9 person tent. Its a tunnel tent with a fixed porch to 1 side.
We were away in it this last week as we are checking our set ups & this tent is great in all factors pitched very quickly thanks to Gary Cross Youtube vid was a great help & did work even for this large tent.
The space inside is fantastic bedrooms across the back in a 2-3-2 set up the 3-2 can be opened up for 1 large room. Then at the front to 1 side is also a double room which is very useful ...its our ensuite lol, but does not have to be fixed as the carpet covers the whole of the living space.
We have decided though that we are going to sell this tent for 1 reason only....we want a polycotton tunnel tent so we need to sell this tent to make room & to add to the funds.
Anyways didn't really want this to sound like a 'sale pitch' just wanted to show you another alternative.
I will be adding the tent & carpet to free adverts here,
Another huge thumbs up for the Gelert Corvus 6+2 here!
We did a lot of research (literally hours and hours) before choosing it. Space was a major factor, as was price - we got the tent, footprint, porch and carpet for less than £350!!
And I can honestly say it's been incredible. We have used it for three trips this summer, during which it has seen gale force winds and torrential rain, with no problems whatsoever. We think it's the best purchase we have ever made.
I have posted a review and pics in the review section if you're interested!!
