Hoping to upgrade from our Kyham Ontario 8 which has let us down a few times over the last few years. I Still need 8 berth for 2 adults and 3 children but with steel poles rather than fibreglass. I was thinking of waiting a while and going for an Outwell, (Georgia 7P or Vermont XLP) possibly next year, but am aware that they are quite expensive. I do like the fact that they have the panoramic view out, but am also concerned about the sloping vs upright door dilemma, as discussed in a different post. After researching on the internet, I came across the Kampa Croyde 8, which I like the look of, especially the canopy/porch at the front. However, in Go Outdoors today, I have seen a Hi Gear Corado 8 for £350, which is far cheaper than anything else, half price of any of the Outwells. Never been struck on the Hi Gear tents, not to sure about the quality, although the reviews on here do seem ok. I really do want to see a tent in the flesh, which Go Outdoors can provide. I do prefer the internal layout of the Corado rather than the Croyde, as the extra bedroom seems to be in the way of the main living area. Question is - should I go for the Corado which is a good price and can see in my local store? Or will I regret grabbing a bargain? Anybody got any thoughts / experience / recommendations?Sorry for the long windedness!

We have got the corado 4. We have had torrential rain, high winds and she stood up to both. Spoke to a fellow camper who had the corado 6 after a night of 50mph gusts and his stood up to it aswell. So I would assume the 8 will be just as good. Only thing with them as they are polyester it is loud inside the tent once the wind gets up, but that's the same with any polyester tunnel tent. The 8 looks a huge tent but as I say they are really good tents and exceptional value IMO. Geoff.

I have the Corado 6 and the Corado 4. The quality is good. I think the Corado 8 is good value for money. Go for it!!

Looking at the Corado 8, I have decided that it is probably a bit too big for what we need. Now toying between the Vango Maritsa 700 and Royal Tokyo 8. Seen a very good price on the Royal and our friends have the Tokyo 6. But - do like the layout, especially the porch area of the Vango. Further Complications!!
