After many years of camping in the excellent peak land hartington, SWIMBO decided we needed a bigger tent so after looking around and reading posts on this forums we bought a Cleveland 5 in last years end of season sale.
Last week we took our 1st camping trip and though it did not rain there was a heavy due most mornings and this would drip a little and the roof felt really damp. If we had a gust of wind several drops would fall!!
Is this normal for outwells?
If not do they give a guarantee on their waterproofness?
Thanks Brian

Its par for the course with all polyester tents not just Outwell and its condensation, make sure you leave all vents open

If it didn't rain it can't be leaking...
I have just come back from camping with friends and both their tents were damp inside in the morning due to both families have all the vents shut as it was a bit cold at night. I had all the vents wide open and no condensation at all.

Thanks for the replys :-)
I think the vents were open and even the outer porch area had damp walls! Could condensation occur here?

Sounds to me like a bit of both condensation and morning dew. We had it last year in early September, you wake up in the morning and everything feels a bit damp and the outside of the tent looks soaking wet from the morning mist. But as the others have said ventilate as much as possible. Better to feel a bit colder rather than damp and cold. As you say it didn't rain so the tent cant be leaking. Geoff

You would be surprised how much condensation can build up in a tent. Wet clothes, shoes and towel drying in a tent all add to the amount of moisture build up and in a tent.
