We have the Maritsa 700 + enclosed extension, which are both fantastic for what we want and need, it gives us LOADS of room for us and the dogs.
HOWEVER -
The front flap of the extension door when closed isnt great. Although there are points you can peg it down, they are not adequate and on the first time of using it, the front flap ripped along the black overlip. THEREFORE - as the internal ground sheet for the extension is not sewn in, with the door closed there is not a good 'join' between the ground sheet and front door to stop water getting in as it bows inwards.

I WILL TRY TO SOMEHOW POST A LINK OR PHOTO FOR PEOPLE TO SEE AS MY EXPLANATION IS RUBBISH - SORRY!!!!!
I am wanting ideas or advice from anyone else with the extension as to how they have dealt with this.

I was thinking of putting some velcro or toggles with eyelet holes on the groundsheet and door to lift the groundsheet up a few inches to allow water to go under rather than in.

ANY IDEAS???????

Thank you

Kris

Hi

Firstly, I will apologise as I can't offer you an exact solution as we too have the Maritsa, but can't get hold of the canopy for it! From what you have described though, would an option be to leave the internal ground sheet out if it is not sewn in? Wanting the canopy for us is so we could have the main door open when it rained in theory, therefore not having a ground sheet would be beneficial to us, obviously this would not be an option if the ground sheet could not be left out. Hope this makes sense!

Hi, thanks for the reply, only just seen it!! Wish this site would send messages so you know when your messages been replied to!!! So i apologise!!!!!

I found a kind of solution, I purchased some 'elastic ties' which when ties from the inside of the tent, secure the outside of the tent to the groundsheet, in such a a way as to keep things firm and secure without the risk of further damage it also keeps the groundsheet lipped up, like a bowl, so it means any water can not get in the flap but would simply pass underneath!!!! It seems to be a pretty good solution, however me being a complete OCD fanny will probably buy another extention (if I can find one) and tag it on the front so it will be a double extention!!!! I also have just purchased a family shelter as well to tag on to the front of the tent for extra rain shelter!!!!
MY OCD IS GETTING OUT OF HAND!!!!!!!!
