Hi, I'm new here but have been a casual camper all my life (having survived Girl Guides!).

I have inherited my dads 1970's Vango Force ten cn mk3. I have had it up a few times in the back garden, still waterproof.I have been thinking it would be nice to go away with it for the odd weekend as it is is lighter and much quicker to put up than our family Outwell.

I seem to have a problem getting everything lined up though. If I get the front right so the zip does up then the back looks wrong and I'm having a hard time keeping the seams level with the poles (the leg ones). Does it sound like I don't have the frame set up straight (set square and spirit level?), maybe the fly sheet has warped (although it looks fine)? Is it a case of practise practise practise? Should it be this hard?

I think it's more likely to be the frame that is wrong...have you got the a frame ends the same on both sides? Is there a chance ridge and leg poles are mixed?
If you're able to post pics, I'm sure someone will spot what the problem is...

Thanks for the reply. I definitely have the poles in the right places, no chance of mixing legs and cross pole as they are strung together and legs have feet. I think the problem is that I'm not getting the frame "square". It's half down now as I have been fiddling with leg and peg position and took most of the pegs out. I will try again tomorrow and take photos (and then work out how to post them).

Ah, that's good then, if the poles are all there. Does it look straight before you put the fly on, with just the inner ?
Get it looking square with inner, then peg fly sides with seams vertical against poles, bells last?
Good luck tomorrow

I've managed it a bit better today. The door fastens but the front and back still look a little billowy.

I have taken photos. Do I need to get them into photobucket before posting them?

Yes post them to photobucket first to link to them in the little picture icon when you post.
