We have a bear Lake 6 which we'll continue to use for 3days + trips, but considering a throw it down, pump it up, bundle in, inflatable we can use for the odd bit tactical weekend camping to reduce hassle.
Requirements:
Cotton / Polycotton, sleep 4 comfortably, realiable, quick up / down, can fit table and chairs inside.
If anyone has any recommendations I'd be very glad of them.
Cheers!
P.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Karsten Pod - actually, really up in 15 minutes including pegging all 16 pegs.
and its built to withstand force 12 winds and a design life of 20 years. and you can configure the doors ( and how many of them ) windows as you like.
i have the 300 pod, theres bigger and smaller ones. you can link pods together and also add external sleeping rooms.
then theres various extensions available too.
oh, did i say its pure cotton, the tent is silent in the wind - even makes polycotton feel, well not quite like polyester, but after karsten very heavy thick pure cotton you might not want to use your Bear Lake again!.
the most flexible tent ever.

Not sure about the pitching time for the Eden, but I guess maybe 10 mins to the point of starting to peg and guy out. I too had a Bear Lake 6 and front extension until April when we bought the Harrier XL. Size wise this is almost a straight switch for the Bear Lake 6, which I have now sold.

hahaha gary - iv always liked a bit of continental!
Porbeagle - i loved my old BL6 - a fantastic tent! side brace poles, heavy rubber groundsheet - and with the front canopy - yes it was big but such a good tent in so many ways.
If only Outwell made the exact tent, size, groundsheet, opening windows etc and just replaced the metal poles with airbeams.
I " w a s " going to sell my Concorde L - but at the moment - it sits in the spare room in its bag!.
theres a reason for this.
The Concorde to me is a tent that 4 people could Live in, esp in bad weather. its got big windows and lots of space to sit in, cook in, walk around etc. a couple of people wouldnt feel crowded in it say eating drinking playing games etc if the weather outside was bad.
The Karsten is superior to the Concorde quite considerably in terms of the materials used in its construction and its strength as a tent in bad weather is unequalled to anything iv seen on the domestic tent market so far.
But currently, i just have 1 pod and the extension. its more of a tent ( as it stands currently ) for sleeping, cooking, eating and getting ready to go out in. it doesnt have big windows and curtains everywhere like the concorde does. sitting in it as it currently exists unless i have the front open has restricted outward views. so i dont sit in the pod - just in the extension with the door open!
however this will change once i buy the next pod which i will likely order with double windows on 1 wall and at least 2 connection doors, then this will become the living area of the tent with views out and at that point i guess the concorde becomes redundant.
until then, i have a strange "hanging onto the concorde" thing going on lol
or as gary says - tent addict!
