Hi. We bought a used Khyam montreal last year and love it but we cant figure out how to erect the side door as a sun canopy. Its not in the instructions. When we use all the poles we have 2 rather short poles left so not sure if the poles were missing when we bought it. There is no way the 2 small poles would hold it erect. Help anyone?

Sounds to me like you just need to buy a set of king poles :)

we thought about that but the poles for the tent itself are very straightforward. All the same size and there are two for the inside which are metal. We have two poles left and we always wondered why. They are not telescopic nor do they connect. We always thought that they may be spares. Perhaps I should purchase a set of king poles and see what I can do with them. Just wish I had a picture of a tent like ours with the sun canopy erect.

Do the spare poles have spikes on one end? These would go through an eyelet at the bottom of the door with guys over the top. Are there poles inside the short poles?
We had a small khyam many years ago and remember taking ages on how to work out the canopy.
