Hi all.

I am looking to buy a new 1/2 man tent.
Basically, my friend has a vango banshee and boasts continually about it. I want to better him.
I want something that will make him jealous.
Criteria in ranking order (most important first):
At or around 2 - 3 pounds weight.
A quality durable item.
Very easy pitch - c. 7 mins if poss, pref not inner first.
Would like bit more room/height than the banshee, with more vestibule space.

My budget is £100- £250.

At the moment I'm thinking of the tarptent double rainbow?
Or Wild Country Zephyros lite?
Or mountain equipment dragonfly 2xt?

What do you think?

Thanks!

Have a look on Ebay, the Zephyros lite is reduced (just put Zephyros lite in the search box) and well within your budget. An excellent lightweight tent for the price.

Thanks,

But do you think the tarptent doublerainbow would be better?
Have read somewhere issues about the zephyros not lasting well.

I'm not sure my friend would be jealous of the zephyros - he'd say the banshee is just as good but cheaper.

Have you considered Robens' Trail tents? The Starlight 1 (under 2kg.) or 2, the Lodge 2 or the Voyager 2EX?

Robens' Trail Tents

Or, if you want to spend a little more, the Robens Buzzard should kick him in to touch!

Nobody have any thoughts on the double-rainbow?

Basically - I just want a better tent than him.

I want him to struggle while I pull out a small matchbox, shake it and voila... a beautiful hi-tech spacious tent. But for under £200!

Ha ha, no. - thanks guys, I will take a look at the suggestions.

Ok - narrowed it down to:

vaude taurus ultralite
vango tempest 200
wild country zephyros 2xl
robens voyager 2
wild country hoolie 2

Any ideas about the above?

Decided.

Wild Country Hoolie 2 it is.

Like Robens voyager but more spacious.

Good blend of pitchtime and weight.

Anyone own this tent?

I don't own one but did look at it when buying a new tent. I just got such a good deal on the Zephyros at the time so that swayed me to buy it.

The Hoolie has a good porch and I recon possible to get a brew on with door open a bit and more space in general that the Zephyros.
Its about 1kg heavier than Zephyros 2 lite but still a reasonable weight IMO..

Not sure about best price but Sportsdirect are selling it for £109.99..
