Hello, I'm new here and I would like to ask you all about the outwell harrier l or xl. What's the pro and cons ? I like the quality of the flysheet but I'm put off by the huge size and weight. Whats your experience with the two tents?

Hi dijo, I did a review of our Harrier XL last spring in the review section, with a few photos of it. The pack is pretty big, but the weight was managable, just! Would not want anything heavier :) There is not much difference in weight and pack size between the 2 models, if the extra space and 3 bedrooms is important to you I would say go for the XL, better than outgrowing the L. I wouldn't rule out the Concorde M or L and front awning, possibly more flexible with the option to have a big or small set up. The lack of covered cooking and eating area was why we sold ours, that porch only really serves to make the front door rain safe. No guarantee Outwell will ever bring out a front extension for it.
Was a very easy tent to pitch and take down, 1 man job for sure and I'm not a big bloke. More comfortable for 2 to carry it to the pitch though!

As Jim says, it sounds like you might be better off with a Concorde with an awning, if you're concerned about pack size and weight. The Concorde awning gives fully enclosed, albeit not huge, living space, and I'm comfortable cooking in there with the door rolled up. Pack size and weight are not a problem; I comfortably lift mine in and out of the trailer, and pitch alone.

We have a Concorde M & front awning, and I really like the flexability. We also have a Bear Lake side extension, which gives us the perfect cooking/outside seating space. Isn't such a neat fit without the awning, so I have an Outwell tarp for when we're just using the M on it's own.Would work perfectly with a Concorde L on it's own though
I do like the flat front on the Harrier, but on balance, prefer what we have. Two separate bags are also much easier to lift
