Hi everyone, I'm new on here and new to camping, in fact we've, that's the missus and two children girl 9 and boy 5, never been camping yet. We go next week to a site in West Yorkshire. I got made redundant earlier in the year and decided to invest in a tent for some future family holidays. After a lot of reading decided to get an air tent as we are inexperienced. Also I wanted to sell the whole idea to the missus and anything that makes it sound more easy is a good thing. As others have said the tent package is huge and we needed a roof box as well, this is the one downside to an inflatable. Anyway I wanted to errect the tent first, so as not to turn up on camp and look like a contemplate pillock. However, my garden, although nearly 70 ft long is devided in to sections, the grass area not being big enough for the tent. I decided instead to errect the porch section to get an idea. Although straight forward to inflate, the instructions are very poor and I incorrectly pegged out the groundsheet first only to have to start again. The instructions don't even mention the groundsheet!
My question is this, to anyone who owns one or knows, the porch groundsheet has 3 holes in it! Clearly they fit around the air beam posts. I've been along to my local 'Go Outdoors' which displays the tent but without the porch section. The tent ground sheet does not have holes in it, obviously this would let water in, so how does the porch groundsheet marry up with the main tent. I, possibly wrongly assumed the main tent posts around the door go in to these 3 porch groundsheet holes. Help anyone. Pics would be good. Many thanks from a worried novice camper.

Hi
I have this setup and tbh i prefer not to use the ground sheet because its a faff putting it in!!! So the airbeams do fit into the holes (the holes should have little draw strings on them) you then peg the airbeam to the ground through the holes and then tighten up and tuck the rest on the ground sheet under the tent. I hope this makes sense. I was away in mine over the weekend but had no service to read this otherwise would of taken a pic.
p.s Take some duck tape and small pieces of lagging to put over pump handles. I had to because the poor design gave me blisters. Also when putting porch on loosly guy the middle rope over the other side of the tent it makes it easier to get into place once blown up x

Thanks for the pump tip. I'm wondering if I've put the porch ground sheet down back to front? Do the holes with the gaitorsrs around not go to wards the main tent door? Only the airbeam post of the tent doesn't go through the tent ground sheet in order for the porch ground sheet to attach itself!? Thanks
Hi I had exactly the same problem. I found a video on YouTube which explained everything. You are correct in that the three holes do line up with the 3 tent beams but they do not go through them. Just place them directly under the tent ground sheet underneath the beams. The holes are presumably for a different tent where there is no built in groundsheet. Hope this helps
Just an update to my previous note. After using the tent several times now, I can tell you that the three holes in the porch ground sheet are actually to enable you to peg the main tent to the ground without having to peg underneath the groundsheet. The porch groundsheet should be pushed underneath the main tent so that the three holes are just in front of the beams. This lines up exactly with the tent ground straps. Simply peg the tent through the holes and tighten the draw strings.
