Hi, if you are looking for a new tent have a look at the German Amazon website amazon.de as with the pound strong and better pricing there anyway good savings can be had. Ive just ordered a new outwell bear lake 4 and footprint for £695 delivered best uk price I could find was £950 quite a saving.

Yeah, I often use Amazon.de and Amazon.fr. I got my Coleman and a roofbox cheaper than from Amazon UK. It helps that I don't have to put up with the exorbitant £ to € rates on Amazon UK and some of the ridiculous charges to ship to Ireland.

I recently bought my Coleman tent from Amazon UK but then discovered when I did a postal tracker that it was coming from Germany. The tent is ok apart from some initial leaks but it seems to be the 'economy' version of those I saw on Utube videos before purchase...not quite the same design. It is all very well buying stuff cheaply from abroad but I wonder if the quality is the same as those purchased from UK camping shops.

I didn't return my 'leaking' tent (bought some seam sealer instead) because it would have been too much hassle but had I bought it from a shop in the UK I may well have returned it.

A lot of the stuff fulfilled by Amazon comes from Amazon sarle. Your Coleman would have been made in the exact same factory in China as the stuff in the UK. You also have full returns with Amazon.

Nothing actually comes from Amazon Sarl, that is just their Luxembourg registered office to avoid paying full UK taxes. The goods can come from any of their distribution depots throughout the UK and the rest of Europe.

When buying cameras, phones etc. from Amazon Marketplace, be aware that if they are coming from Germany then the chargers are usually fitted with European 2-pin plugs.
