Since our Gelert Horizon 8 let more water in than a colander this week, DH wants a new tent before we head to Gloucestershire this weekend!

No time for in depth research (would usually visit several displays, followed by days of online research) - seem to be more tents than ever!

Criteria are:

Easy/quick to pitch (Gelert was fine but quicker would be better - would come slightly smaller eg 6 man)
Good living space - kids are 6 & 3
Somewhere sheltered to cook eg porch
Storage

Budget is ideally no more than £3-400 as this is NOT a planned purchase!
If we could see one up in the North West would be a big bonus.

tunnel tents are easy to pitch. many ladies on here take kids and pitch solo. vango icarus or iris are good. for the 4 of you the iris 600 and get a canopy to go with.

Thanks. The 5 man tents are probably a bit small for us as DH is 6'1 and, after having had an 8 man for the last 5 years we are used to a LOT of space and now have a lot of kit! (although the extension option does look good).

Our previous tent as a couple and with a baby was the Vango Venture 500 which we loved but was just too small for us!

See this http://www.winfieldsoutdoors.co.uk/sunncamp-breton-6-air-tent/
Can't tell you what it's like as it hasn't arrived yet but fantastic reduction (additional 5% discount also available) making it far cheaper than any other retailer.
Perfect layout for what we're looking for.
Shops in the north west I think so chance for you to see it?

Ooh, do like the look of that one - a bit more than what I was looking to pay but realising budget may have to stretch a bit....

How do you get the extra discount?

On our way to Winfields now (DH driving) so will have a look.

What's the general consensus on the air tents? They weren't around when I bought my last one!

There was a link at the bottom to pop your e-mail address in to get their newsletters then a discount code came up after it.
Brought it down to £475 - loads of sites are still looking for £700+ for it.

Please do me know how it looks in the flesh if they have one on display!

Just leaving Winfields - more confused than ever!!!

Saw the Breton, looked good but the 2/2/2 bedroom divide was a bit small for us, having come from 4/2/2. Liked the Vango Taiga 600XL (wasn't looking for air and also massively over budget), and also the Outwell Kensington (canvas and also massively over budget)

So confused!
