Hi

We have purchased the Hi Gear Nimbus 8 inflatable tent with the footprint, carpet and porch.
We've been reading the instructions before first use and are a little confused on setting up the porch.

We see that one side of the tent has a basic door, the other side has a door with a vestibule.

Does it matter which side the porch is added? The instructions are not clear on this.

Many thanks for any help you can give so we do not look like the complete amateurs that we are when setting up!

Hi,

I've just bought a Nimbus 8 as well, still can't get over how easy it was to erect!

We asked that question of the Go Outdoors salesman who said it did not matter. It appears to make sense to me to put it on the opposite side to the small storm porch.

Positioning appears to be a bit hit and miss, but getting the central seam of the overflap level with the central airbeam seems to help.

What is missing on mine is the porch groundsheet, can anyone advise whether it should have been included?

Hi

Thanks for your reply that's really helpful.

Yes the porch should include the groundsheet. It is not built in like the tent but it included with the purchase of the porch.

I've heard similar points to the positioning of the porch. I guess it's trial and error!

Thanks to you as well, have contacted Go Outdoors again who this time checked other porches in stock at my insistence that the porch groundsheet existed and they have the groundsheet!

We've inflated ours to 4 PSI which seems quite firm enough, so itchy about inflating to 7PSI.

After our tried and trusted Kampa Tenby 8 (anyone want to buy it?) this is so easy to erect for four geriatric vintage motorcyclists.

Re the porch erection, getting the central overflap seem level with the central beam means that the two outer edges of the overflap sit nicely over the two adjacent beams and they fit nice and snug and the beams give a nice rigid surface to tighten the overflap against and prevent wind from causing it to billow.
