Hi all,

I'm back looking for tents, and the only things we seem to have nearby are Go Outdoors and stores that stock older model tents, and am looking for somewhere to view 2016 model tents and somewhere to buy from as I prefer having a physical shop to return to should I have any problems than dealing with an online retailer.

I know of Outdoor Action in Preston, and Winfields Haslingden, but neither have the tent I want to see (Vango Rhapsody), so hoping there is somewhere else I can get to without driving 3+ hours each way.

I'm based sort of in the middle between Manchester and Liverpool and would be OK with up to a 2 hour drive.

Any ideas?

choose a nice sunny weekend and visit a campsite, most peeps more than happy to talk about their tents.

Castlecroft at Radcliffe have a Tent display, only a handful of models on show though.

Camperlands don't appear to stock any of the current Vangos (but thanks, it's another one on the list to keep in mind for general camping gear).

Castlecroft are a no-go. Website was dead, and a bit of googling led to stories of a manager there selling customer's caravanas and doing a runner. The company appears to still be active but is currently in liquidation: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/2403884

Thanks guys

Hi, we went to Winfields at Chester, has a great display, including Rhapsody, illusion, Croyde studland and many others.

Yep I was in Castlecroft camping last week, they had a few tents upstairs along with some awnings.

It's not the shop it was, but they have always been helpful, in fact back in 2008 they let me have a rummage in their stock room, were I found a Sun-Canopy for my Cabanon Biscaya, being clearance stock they charged me just 50 well below RRP.
