Can anyone advise if there is a place that has a few inflatable tents on display in the north east? Id like to see them 'in the flesh' before buying one, preferably the vango range (im looking for vango capri 500 for a weekend-up to a week camping for me & dog, with friend or two coming along sometimes so the 2 bedroom option appealed)

Any opinions on the vango 500 would be great as i am just starting out camping...or alternatives to the vango? Budget of up to £450

Thank you!

You dont mention where in the NE you would travel too..but if Newcastle is an option you will find Go outdoors and United British Caravans within a few miles of each other. Both have a decent tent display.Check the websites and ring up to ask if they have the models you like pitched for inspection.I think you might struggle to land an airbeam vango for that budget...Airgo tents have a few at that sort of price and not a bad tent either.
If camping for a week-you will need a bit of space around you and assuming you are pitching the tent alone you will obviously want an easy-erect tent and whilst most tents can be put up by one person--bad weather can cause you big problems. So--an inflateable tent would work for you as would a Bell tent..you could find a 4mt bell tent and an inner for your budget.Loads of photos under the tent review heading to give you some ideas.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your reply, newcastle isnt far from me (i live an hour from there) so will give gooutdoors a go. I was thinking £450 may be enough as i have seen the vango airbeam capri 500 for between 430-480 (i have extra for footprint, carpet etc)....also seen vango air lomond in http://www.winfieldsoutdoors.co.uk/vango-airbeam-lomond-500-air-tent/?gclid=CPjHuZ-Xz9ICFXcW0wodFGMAhg

Will go check out the reviews of airgos!

The Lomond looks like a decent deal..I noticed its a pre-order so you wouldnt get your tent until halfway through april. Ive always been a vango fan..great tents -never had an airbeam. One little bit of advice for you--buy any extras eg porches, footprints, carpets etc at the same time as the tent or you might have trouble finding them later on

Thanks for reply, i went to go outdoors at the weekend and was so glad i did as was good to see size in person and discovered i think i preferred an XL version for when people came with me as was really impressed what a difference the extra living space made, saw a vango though a poled version but same size as the lomond and think the Living space bit small for 3 people (wouldnt be often but i just want the one tent)
Also saw the airgo which i was thoroughly impressed with for the price! Airbeams felt very sturdy, good features even for entry level tent e.g. dipped bedroom rather than toggles

I have my eye on a vango edorus air 500xl which ive found for £553 so think it is the 2016 model but for a starter tent and bit better spec i think it is worth the bit extra
