Hi, we want to upgrade (from our Eurohike Buckingham 8) and I've spent some time doing research, looking at other tents whilst camping (and trying to sneak around them to get names/models) and watching and reading a lot of reviews. We've got a list of 3 that are all very similar but we just can't make a decision. ANY advice, recommendations or tips would be great!!
So, it's between the
Outwell Vermont XLP
Vango Claremont 800 XXL
Kampa Croyde 8 Series 3

They're all steel pole tents, we're not sure about air... have seen a few deflate a bit because of temperature changes and not withstand wind so well. Not really convinced although the set up would be so much easier!!?

Please help :) thanks

Hi, I cant comment on the Vango or Kampa , but we have a Vermont XLP and for us it is perfect , very spacious , can stand up to gale force 10 winds which is handy for the site we use ,it has a little walk in type wardrobe thingy which we put a chemy loo in ,other things we like about it is the whole front can be opened up, and the fact you can turn the living room area into to a completely fly and wasp free eating environment using the clever meshing on the bulkhead partition and the windows .

Let's look purely at the features.
The denier of the fabric on the Claremont is 150 denier against 75 ish on the others.
The Vermont and Claremont have Zipped curtains which is a nice feature.
Overall size you need to look at.
Sleeping compartment layout again you need to looks at.
Then price. I think the Claremont offers you the best of the features at a great price.
Whichever one you decide on search Google for the brand name with the full tent name the "package deal" and I'm sure you will find the best deal.
Also try and see them all pitched.

We have the Croyde Classic Air, 6 berth so slightly smaller than the 8.

Never had issues with deflation in the heat we have owned it 3yrs now, been out in all weathers, we just had to get away from poles and are so glad we did.

Also read the reviews on here too, good luck with your choice and let us know the outcome.
