So the sad day has come when we may have to say goodbye to our 10 Year old Robens Fortress tent as it's started to leak. We have used it extensively, so are considering replacing it with a new Robens. Maybe a slightly different type, like a Lakeshore or Sweet Dreamer. Does anyone have any experience of these 2 models? The Fortress we have is the original version, so is basically the same spec as these 2, 5000mm hydro static head, alloy poles and 70mph wind rated. It has taken a massive battering on many occasions and never let us down. I am really wondering if the new Robens products are as good as the old ones in general and any specific views anyone has on the 2 new models I have mentioned? Many thanks.

Hey,

I bought a Robens Klondike Grande teepee tent, had it for 4 months and sent it back as it was basically falling apart! Seams were poorly stitched, holes appearing in the seams from where the needles has stitched, the poly cotton seemed to stain easily and washing it caused it to leak. I could never seem to tension it correctly either.. I put it down to possibly receiving a dodgy tent but it totally put me off Robens as when I contacted them about it they seemed to just shrug and move on... I’d definitely consider a Robens backpacking tent or Robens camping accessories but I certainly wouldn’t get anything from their outback range!

Conversely I recently bought a Robens Fairbanks and we're very happy with it.

However it appears that neither of us know anything about the models you're asking about.
