We're thinking of getting a new tent now the kids are getting a bit bigger (3 and 5 years old). Ideally we'd like one with three bedrooms. To start off with they will sleep in the same room, but with flexibility to let them have a bedroom each when they are a bit bigger. With that in mind we're thinking of a 2x2x2 arrangement, but with removable dividers. Ideally those dividers would be zipped in, rather than clipped in. Also, for ease of pitching, we are thinking of going down the inflatable route as well.
I've been hanging my nose over a Khyam Airtek 6, but can't seem to find many reviews online - does anyone have any experience with one?
Also, does anyone have a recommendation of a suitable alternative, as to be honest, the selection is quite mind-boggling!
Thanks everyone!

Hi Jgraham.
we've just bought the Kampa Studland 8 Air Pro from the NEC Camping show. It was a choice between the Studland 8 and the Kampa Bergen 6 but went with the Studland as it had a bigger living area and we didn't want/need the side pod. The Khyam Airtek 6 is similar in size to the Bergen. The bergen has slightly wider bedroom pods as the tent slightly wider overall. We had a good look at the Khyam Airtek 8 at the camping show and was a little disappointed with the quality and features (cheap zips, not able to zip shut the roof windows etc) and the lack of extras such as awning extensions.
Having said that, it was still a very nice tent which i would put on a par with the lower end of the range of Kampa, Vango and Outwell. Also the lack of stockists would mean getting to see one on display might be a problem.
Thanks, that’s really helpful. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anywhere local (Nottingham) with a decent range of tents pitched, other than the usual go outdoors and ultimate outdoors, and wanted to see some of the other brands. Thanks again.
Just got vango illusion tc 800xl for 4 of us, kids are 5,7. Bit bigger than we need now but figure we can grow into it. 800 is about the same size as the Studland. Do like the look of the Zempire Aero TXL Pro but I got a decent deal in the illusion. One thing is they all are big in the bag and are very heavy!

Take a look at the multiple award winning Karsten tents.
The highest quality inflatable tent on the market (they do say!), and their sole UK distributor, Camping Travel Store have their next display from 5th-8th April... with the very first UK showing of the 380 pod, which is not only inflatable, but also comes with dividing curtains as standard, to the very same split you and your family desire... 2+2+2 across the rear half of the tent.
100% cotton canvas, various and numerous optional extras, choice of colour schemes, and other bespoke requirements catered for.
Unrivalled inflation technology and quality of materials, with workmanship and customer care (Pre & Post purchase!) to match.
There's also the odd forum discussion on them, which I've listed Here*...
* WARNING!!
Just be aware that the discussion that is currently at the very top of that list has had over 1.8 MILLION views, and the actual discussion currently runs to 419 pages!
Another shout for the vango illusion 800tc xl. It has 2x2x2 across the back, plus an extra removable bedroom. Bedrooms have zip dividers which are also removable. It's a fantastic rock solid tent and we love the poly cotton. Only downside is the weight and pack size. If you can live with that, it's perfect.
Jeanie51..You dont mention if you are car camping or carrying your tent around. Quechua air seconds tents could work for you. Another option for you could be an easy erect tent..not an air tent but easy to put up single handed..have a look at the slumit range.I,M not biased--honest! but have a slumit grizzly 4 for solo camping (in a car)and it is very good..I also have an Airgo 4-man airtent and thats very good also! or what about a 3mt bell tent? Oh dear! what have I started?
GOOD LUCK
I am car camping.I thought an air tent sounded easy to put up...I have put up a tent on my own, the ones with poles and nylon bendy things!!...but it's a faf on my own...thanx.
You have so many choices, from berghaus to vango to everything in between!
Polycotton would be the way I go,
The upper range vango now have bigger bedrooms too?
I would also consider the ease of replacement/spare beams, this could be a potential problem in the future. Not all tent manufacturers have a supply of spares just in case. I know this isn't the case with vango and spares are readily available. Buyer beware??
I still reckon vango make the best for the masses airbeam tent,
Paul and nikki, at 400 for the edoras 600 is a good price, if I hadn't just bought the bell tent, my bidding finger would of been twitching.
I had the 500, with the porch door ect, just not wide enough for a family of 4!!
It is the full package with porch door, sun canopy, spare airbeams and carpet/ footprint. To be honest it’s the best tent I’ve had and is only being sold due to having a 23 month old daughter that would probably be trying to escape the bedroom soon so the other half is a bit worried 😟
