Hi we have a vango keswick 600 air tent and I am looking for a tarp shelter to use on the front, has anyone got the vango family shelter as it is pictured on smaller tents on Google and not sure it will fit. Any other tarp shelters suitable for a larger tent? Thanks x

I would agree with woodman...good gear..good company to deal with.I use a 4x4 dd tarp with a few guys added and some telescopic poles from go outdoors. Endless possibilities and works with any of my tents.
Look up a thread on here called "tarp origami" to give you some ideas.

also agree DD are excellent have 2 of their tarps 4 x4 and a smaller one for backpacking , some additional para cord learn a few knots and you have a shelter for most situations

We use carabiners with our DD tarp. Great for quick release if the wind gets up. We have cheaper tarps but none come close to the quality of the DD. The only people is that it is too big for our wee tents.

HI Ewen , this may sound stupid but how do you use carabiners with your tarp ?

I either use a para cord line between a couple of trees and then sometimes use prussic knots to taunt the tarp along the line,

In the open I extend hiking poles and use guy lines am intrigued as to how you use carabiners am always keen to learn another way to use the tarp.

My current fav tarp is the DD super light which is about 3 mtr by 1.5 mtr makes an ideal shelter for lunch when walking and an additional cover when camping and weighs in at about 300 grams with pegs etc

Carabiner and guys instead of prussic knots. I have carabiners with a closed eye at one end which hooks over poles. The DD tarp loops are so big that carabiners are a good way to connect up.

This is on my cotton tarp

And here it is on the tent
