Which tent did you end up getting? I'm in a similar situation and I'm finding it impossible to find a smallish tent I can stand up in that deals with British weather. Thanks.

That tent is 25+ years old (can tell by the lattice windows) and worth nowhere near that asking price. At £70 it would be nearer the mark.

I do agree with Splendid though, that a 2-berth frame tent could work. It would definitely stand up to the British weather!

I'd suggest looking out for a Cabanon Pacific as the frame is aluminium so lighter to carry and handle. It's classified as a one bag tent (theory being frame and canvas and inner can fit into one bag). It's doable but you have to be a good packer! The lot weighs 20kg and pack size isn't huge, unlike most frame tents.

Yes, pricey, although says only used twice!
With canvas, I tend to ignore the age if the condition is excellent /little used...all my tents are very old secondhand canvas! 😊
There's a Cabanin Pacific on ebay but starting price of £225...

Smallish footprint? Standing height? Out of season use?
How about something like a Safir tipi tent?

They are expensive, as they are quality. Can use a wood burner stove in the winter, should you wish.

Thanks for all the info. I was considering that 2 berth cabanon, but I might give it a miss now (I'd also need to hire a car to pick it up) and potentially save up for a new obelink cabino.

Thanks for the other suggestions, but they're a bit big and/or pricey for me.

Possibly worth watching and making an offer. It's worth around half what they're asking, even if little-used (it's amazing how many used tents for sale have hardly been used, despite being ancient ).

Just be aware that pack size and weight on that one won't be small. The aluminium frame Cabanon Pacific and Atlantic (also a nice small tent, we've had both) are much easier to handle, particularly if solo camping.

The Atlantic might suit you better in terms of bedroom inner size (more generous than the Pacific) but not quite so easy to pitch. And rarely available used, nowadays.

I've just realised you said you don't have a car to collect. Does that mean you'll not have a car to go camping in? If not, forget frame tents, they are definitely not tents for carrying far!

I just bought a used-once Outwell Franklin 3 for me to go on mums only weekends and for when my kids want their own little separate tents when we go together. It’s really lovely but needs another adult to help me put it up.

Thanks - I know they're big. I don't have a car as it's not necessary for me, but I hire for car camping and/or car pool with friends (after covid).
I have a tiny two man for non-car camping (and car camping at the moment, hence my wish for something a bit more comfy).

That zephyros does look great, I've searched all over the internet and can't find one in stock or for sale anywhere. I'm keeping my eyes peeled though!

I love Cabanons and would go for one if I could find one... (thanks again to those on here with similar recommendations to the above). But, I have just purchased a Kampa Dometic Brean 3 (poled) which I can put up on my own, it does need a little practice, and standing height with no lip on the front door either. Bliss. Not lovely canvas but only 11.5kg.
