Blimey, not seen anything like that for a few years!
I thought these so-called mass tent manufacturers had ironed out these problems. Clearly not!
My recommendation for the actual stitching repairs is included in the link above from the previous poster (Canvas Tent Repairs. Burton on Trent, Staffs).
I believe I'm right in saying that this air beam repair continues to be classed as a success today, as I recall the beam never got replaced? Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty certain that's the case!
I`m not entirely sure but I think that Canvas Repair Centre in Burton-upon Trent is no longer there. I had a Trout Lake 4 repaired there a couple of years ago and I`m sure they`ve now moved up to the Chesterfield area. Further to this, the Burton branch has definitely closed but the Chesterfield branch do a collection and drop off service for £30 (£15 each way).
It was an old stock 2015 tent I bought in 2017 IIRC, which apparently was towards the end of the manufacturing issues.
I think Outwell wanted something like £80 for a replacement tube - which I thought a little steep for a plastic bag in a sleeve.
I'll see what price the repairers come up with, but don't fancy this happening again on another tube, so may look for a replacement from a different company :)
If they're unaffordable you'll need someone with a hefty sewing machine to fix the actual tent canopy. Tenacious tape to waterproof the repair and to tape up the inner bladder. Here is an Outwell video on repairing inner bladders: link.
My thread which Mucker kindly linked to above involves quite a bit of unnecessary faff. The important thing is to get a continuous spiral of duct tape round the sleeve - like this:
We were very lucky that we caught the problem before it actually burst the bladder and the tent canopy. We got another 110 nights out of the tent before selling it on when we bought a second hand Karsten.
