We have recently gone back to tents after caravanning for years and bought the Kampa Bergen 6 Pro. It's a big tent - about 7.5m long and I've noticed a lot of sites won't take tents this size. Is this typical or have I just not been looking thoroughly? If it is the case, I would consider downsizing.

We have an 8-man tent that is a similar size. We've managed to find sites in the UK to fit it, although sometimes it is a squeeze. We generally contact the campsite before booking to check our tent will fit on the pitch. It's not usually a problem if we don't need electric hook up.
We've never had a problem fitting our tent onto french campsites, as their pitches tend to be upwards of 80m2 in area.
I have a kampa croyde 6 pro air which is about 7metres by 3 metres & I haven't had any problems with getting pitches on sites, just send them your size, you may have to pay a little more on some sites but usually they accommodate you... Happy camping...
CCC may call this a Jumbo pitch, you’ll pay a bit more. But I’ve been on plenty of independent sites where it wouldn’t be a problem - Dunroamin (in Galloway) pitches are 10x10m, for example; the only issue might be the necessity for 4m between units for fire safety. Any site would advise.
