Hi, I was the proud owner of a second hand Lichfield Heron tent which I purchased last winter from a popular free ad internet site. I knew that there was no instructions but how hard can it be, I thought!
I contacted the company who now own the Lichfield brand but they were as useful as a chocolate fire guard. Apparently they don't hold details of older Lichfield products.
An internet search has drawn a blank also.

So now I'm hoping that someone has either got one or owned one previously who may be able to tell how to put the darn thing up!

I'm half anticipating that I may be a pole or two missing, as what I've got just doesn't make sense! Or I'm just not seeing the obvious, which is also highly likely!

Any help would be gratefully received...

Hi... I did check You Tube but couldn't see it. Do you have a link? There is a Heron tent on there but it's a different brand. Many thanks

I looked on YouTube too and there are instructions for a 'Heron' but it's an Australian brand. Nothing found in connection with the Lichfield Heron unfortunately.

Do you happen to have a photo of it erected, perhaps from the advert you bought it through?

There are some instructions here , do they relate to what you've got ?

Sadly I don't have a photo of the tent erected and I've never seen it erected, even in the advert... I've even tried to find the contact details of the person I bought it from with no joy!

I've seen the instructions for the link provided but I think that these are for the Lichfield Challenger.

There is a photo of a similar tent but difficult to see the configuration of the poles.

Thanks all for trying so far...

ok i have found a pic of it,

what you need to do is start with the bedroom part and peg out the ground sheet, you then place the roof pole in place holding the whole thing up and then put the poles in to support that, then place the fly sheet over the bedroom part, there will be poles that form a frame for the front of the fly, and a roof pole that holds the front poles upright. wish i lived closer as i could put this tent up for you on my own, they are so easy to do!

Hi there.... Thanks for the update. I have seen this image before and I thought it was the Lichfield Challenger tent (just by a bit of internet research)?

Would it help if I uploaded some images of what I have?

The inner tent is a dome.

I have a mixture of fibreglass poles and metal poles.

I'm used to putting up canvas tents and tunnel/dome tents but this one has flummoxed me!

The fibreglass poles are for the dome inner but there are no sleeves to thread them through. How would these attach?

I then have a small selection of metal poles which I can't work out how they connect together... Or there just aren't enough poles to make it work.

So I got to the point where I couldn't work out whether there was poles missing or I just wasn't doing it right...

Many thanks...

When it comes to instructions, rather than restrict search to specific model, it sometimes helps to look at instructions for similar tents in the same 'family', say a 6 berth instead of a 4 berth model, often the basic principles remain the same, only perhaps an extra 'hoop' used. Quite often manufacturers just scale the design up and down and call them different names, so any tent instructions from the era may help.

Good luck

So here we go, thanks to Monty15 for giving me the advice to persevere. Although not the correct model, this is 75% of what's in my bag and it now makes a bit more sense.
Hallelujah...

Hi... Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for 😊
I took it to a weekend away last year and used the image I found as a template. It all went together pretty well as far as I recall. I just hope I can remember how to do it the next time I use it!
