Hi all,

We've come into possession of an Outwell Hartford L tent, however we currently have no poles.
Does anyone happen to know the exact dimensions and quantity of tent poles required please so that we can buy the correct amount/size of replacement poles.
Alternatively if anyone happens to have a complete set of poles they'd be willing to sell?

A long shot I know, but worth a try.

Thank you in advance!

it would be cheaper to buy a complete new tent, the hartford is a very old mode and possibly at the end of its life and you could spend all that money replacing the poles only to find its no longer waterproof

Valid point from marg6, that tent appears to be somewhere between 10 and 20 years old (see reviews: https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/Outwell-Hartford-P-(L)/160), which if it's seen any great use is probably near end of life.

There are quite a lot of poles used on that tent, and they would amount to fair total cost, which may be a poor investment if the tent is un-serviceable, but only you can judge it's condition and the worth of buying entire set of new poles.

Worth contacting Tentspares, generally regarded as the 'go to' people for replacement poles to see if they have info on complete pole set and likely cost. (https://www.tentspares.co.uk/)

Be warned, replacement poles often need cutting (Fine bladed Junior hacksaw, and sand smooth the cut end, and possibly fit end ferrule) to precise length, as supplied to nearest oversize standard pole section length! - that may be a bit of a guessing game, and trial and error, until correct length obtained, it's not normally a problem if you have old poles as a guide, but you don't have that luxury.

Is it the double skin or single skin version? There are examples of both on a well known auction site at the moment, which might be a cheaper and easier way of getting hold of a pole set (those bedroom poles may not be easy to fabricate from scratch). You'd also have a ready supply of other spares.
