Recently purchased a Vango Ventannas Air tent, our first air tent and we used it during May Half term and it was excellent!
But a friend was asking me about the material and call be daft but I don't actually know much about tent materials, I had got it mostly for it's size. So I was looking into it and it's a Polyester 150D, I was curious if there is an average life expectancy for polyester, I have read it doesn't last as long as PollyCotton but it's also much lighter and dries quicker.
We typically camp twice a year for around a week each time.
Are we talking 10 years of life, more or less?
Thanks!

realistic useage? depends on how many nights per year but if you said the average was 30 nights away a year then you should be ok with 5, but could be extended depending on how you take care of it, the weather (sunlight) exposure will decrease its life
The not very helpful answer is 'It depends'.
A couple of weeks/year in the UK/ Northern France and it should give you about ten years of service, maybe more if you're lucky.
I’d say more around 14- 21 days out a year max at the minute.
It’s not been used under any trees, I wasn’t aware of cleaning a tent though.. should you wash down a tent with water after every use? I haven’t got space to put it up in the garden…
It’s meant to be the Elite range from Vango so hoping it’s got a decent UV protection. But lifespan isn’t something anyone typically notes on their site haha
No need to clean your tent after each use. Brush off leaves and dust, leave bird dirt to dry and brush off, then sponge with clean water if needed. Try not to pitch under trees.

We have a Vango Rivendale that is the same spec material, we have had it 6 years now, going away about 20-30 days a year and it is still going strong
Awesome! That’s good to know. Panicked for a while thinking this is a lot of money if it’s only a couple years, what am I doing spending this much haha
Like people have said keep away from trees and if you have to pack away wet get it out and get it dry as soon as possible. Enjoy the tent, I would recommend getting some spare air beams whilst/if you can before they are impossible to find
