Long time lurker here posting for the first time because I don't know where else to turn!
A group of friends & I have a 7m bell tent which was in need of cleaning & repair. After asking around, we sent it to BCT Outdoors in Bradford. That was 31st July. Great comms up to then & we were confident.
Not heard from them since, so I've been chasing - no reply to emails or phone messages. Do I did some googling & found a business news story on 15th August saying that they were looking to appoint Administrators
Am gutted.
Our group is supposed to be at a big event with the tent from Thursday.
1 - this hopefully acts as an alert to anyone currently awaiting a tent or repair from BCT.
2 - has anyone heard anything further & know who the Administrator is?
I've no idea what we're going to do now!
Thanks

Never heard or used these people TBH (but then I caravan so maybe no surprise), but as you`d had no replies from them or on here I took a detour this morning whilst working out and about to see if I could track them down for you.
Sadly, it does appear they have "gone". The steel shutters are down and locked on the windows and doors, the yard is empty save for a part full skip and some empty cages and is chained and padlocked. Occasionally some info is posted on the building of who to contact etc. in such circumstances but there was nothing at all, so I`m afraid you aren`t any further forwardd.
Thank you SO much for taking the time & trouble to investigate for a complete stranger! You are very kind & much appreciated.
I did lots more digging yesterday, along with a family member who is a former Credit Controller. Their bank has indeed called in a loan & Administrators are being appointed. I have sent emails firmly stating that that tent is my asset & is to be returned.
What we don't know yet is whether BCT had started work on it in the 2 weeks they had it before shutting down.
I feel for the employees. The firm has been through the process before in 2007, so may yet reappear.
I too have been caught up in the BCT Outdoors Administration issue. I tried to purchase a dining canopy and they now have my money but I don't have the canopy.
They have now appointed an administrator so I would suggest contacting the Administrator. The details of the notice of the appointment I have copied below. The contact details for the Administrators are at the bottom.

Update - after much nagging & chasing (Graham does not reply to emails) the Administrators have located my tent. Looks like the work was done (yay!), so now we just need to get it sent back.
Fingers crossed that you get a similarly positive outcome DGM.

Glad they traced it.
Might be quicker to arrange to collect it, if that’s possible? Because funds for returning it might be hard to release given there’ll be other creditors, no staff to pack it up etc.
That certainly is a result M&M, you struck lucky there.

Hi on Aug 8th all the members of staff were told without any notice that the company had gone into administration with immediate effect, over 20 staff members some of them with well over 15 /20 years service myself 38 and one other 42 years !! disgusting behaviour by the owner !! The administration company are XL Business Solutions, hope you get your tent back
Hello Terence
I sincerely hope that you and your former colleagues at BCT all find suitable new roles promptly. No-one deserves what you have gone through.
For what it's worth, my group have been really pleased with the work done on our tent. It had been poorly stored while damp and needed a LOT of cleaning & patching. It came back beautifully done.
I wish you well.

BCT Outdoors has become part of a larger UK group. I for one am glad that this type of tent production has stayed in the UK. I also hope that the future looks better for the employees of the 'old' BCT
Oh that's interesting to hear. All of the equipment (and lots of tents without poles!) is up for auction. Full details of the lots are here:

Hi, do BTC actually make tents? Can u design them? I'm trying to find some cheapish tents with rooms that can withstand some winds...
I've just got a small plot of land in Scotland and my budget is small after clearing it fencing it off water and electric...
