Hi to all, we currently have one of those large canvas frame tents believe it's a Sunncamp Frame Tent, from memory. Probably 30+ years old! I got it really cheaply but in excellent condition and This has been brilliant for us and our two children (boy and girl) until now. It's 6 berth so had us in the middle and our kids either side of our compartment. However, we are Foster carers to two additional children (also boy girl) now, so this tent is now too small for our family. There are very specific rules regarding sleeping arrangements when fostering (quite rightly so!), but this means they have to both have their own separate sleeping compartments, cannot share with anyone and ideally our own children are heading towards the age where they shouldn't be sharing either!
Do you have any recommendations for a tent that would fit a family of 6 with at least 5 separate sleeping compartments please? (Obviously hubby and I share a compartment, but the 4 kids really need their own separate ones). There are tonnes of tents that sleep large numbers, but they are shared compartments, not separate. Anyone else in this position? How did you get around it? Many thanks!

We have a Vango Vesta 850xl - it is quite spacious with 4 separate sleeping areas. The living area is very spacious and you could put a very small cheap pop up tent or similar in a corner of that, to facilitate a 5th sleeping area (obviously you wouldn't be pegging it down). This might work similarly with other tents).
I hope you find something to suit your needs.
Hi, I have heard of people using cheap pop up tents inside a big tent to create sleeping compartments. This might work for you, as it would be flexible for when your foster family changes.
Be cautious about very large multi-bedroomed tents, you can easily find they are too big for many camp site pitches! We used to have a 9 berth Tri-Lobed tent for use with our crowd at motor racing events on their temporary camp sites, fine when the pitch size was unregulated, but far too big once they started defining pitch dimensions! We also found relatively few permanent camp sites offered large enough pitches - you could easily restrict your site options! We got rid of the Tri-Lobed tent and bought a large tunnel tent that was far more efficient on ground footprint space, and that's where the pop-up bedrooms came along.
