We currently have a Gelert Cadiz 5 which is really far too small for us and instead we're looking at a tunnel tent but I don't know which one to go for.
Part of the problem is going to be the size of the bag - we only have a Ford Ka and it has to be of a similar size to the one for the Cadiz. We also want a reasonable living area, with enough room to put the table and chairs inside in case of inclement weather.
I did see a Royal Normandy 5 whilst we were camping at the weekend but it appears these are no longer made.
Can anyone give me any suggestions of a reasonably priced tent, (I'm probably going to look at buying a folding camper in the next year so don't really want to spend £350 on a tent this year).

check out the aztec sala range, very good spec and reasonably priced... we've just bought the sala 8 for less than 200 quid.... not too big but plenty of room ( if that doesn't sound daft)! goes up easy too but not had chance to trial it yet though
I'm bumping this back up because I really need help to decide.
Kenton, I have looked at the Outwell sun valley range and really like the 8 but it's about £350 so a bit out of reach at the moment - I might go and see if i can look at a Montana up.

What about the Campus Indiana? The 6 is packed 70x38x25 and 8 is 73x39x28cms. We really loved the size of the 8, not seen a 6 up and versatility as don't have to put all rooms in etc and a really reasonable price, we paid £199 for ours.
Don't know if this is any good, hope you find something
have you considered the montana 4? packed sixe 93x34 cam, £189 at http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/directory2/details.asp?revid=350&typeid= which is where i got my monty 6 from... bit smaller than the 6, but still looks roomy enough, how many are there in your family? I just got back from three nights in ours, just me and my three kids, we've got a toyota previa and it was packed to the gunnels so i can't imagine how you manage to go with a ford ka! (maybe i take too much, perhaps i should start leaving the kitchen sink at home anyway two out of the three nights it poured with rain, last night we had thunderstorms and fairly strong gusts of wind, the tent was brilliant, snug as a bug and we didn't care because we had so much space inside the tent... best thing i've bought in a long time

If you're going to upgrade next year, why not keep the tent you've got & buy an inexpensive 2 or 3 man tent - we've got a 3 man Royal tent for overspill having just downsized from a Wynnster Satellite 12 (2003 model, £100 if anyone's interested) This packs down small enough to fit a niche in your Ka.
