We are a family of four with one still in a travel cot. We have a Vango Diablo 900, yes it is big but it has lots of space and the height for to stand up. It is really useful for the children to have their own bedroom and the space for their stuff. The porch is also a useful area.
We have just spent 2 weeks on the Kintyre peninsular, on the West coast of Scotland. We were subject to a fair amount of wind and a couple of days woth of rain. The tent stood it well and we were always cosy.
Last year it hosted a small birthday party for the youngest.
It does have the space, but besides extolling the virutes of our own tent I would recommend looking a an 8/9 berth tent to get that extra space, particularly if you a going to be going away for a week or more at a time.
We have an Aspen 700 which is a good size tent for a family. Esp good on headroom as very airy and lovely large bedrooms. there are some super pics and a really good review of it on this site by Dreamwolf and I can't do better.(Link Below) We love the Aspen and had a lovely holiday in Cornwall a few weeks ago depite the weather. Made such a difference having the extra room for our four kids.
We have a Diablo 900 and love it to bits but we have also bought a Montana 4 for weekeds because the Diablo isn't the fastest to put up and take down and therefore not ideal for weekends.
I always liked the look of the Outwell Coloradoes but no SIG.
As you can probably tell I prefer a sewn in groundsheet.
Have a look round and decide what you like then be prepared to shop round and compare prices because they can vary significantly.
Good Luck
Jen

We love ours, lots of space with three bedrooms. We have the big one with a high rise airbed in it and you can fit two campbeds in the other two bedrooms, although my two have a bedroom each. Also has good height right through, dh is nearly six foot and can stand up anywhere in the tent with no probs.
Stood up well to bad weather on our first trip out and went up in about 50 mins.
Good luck with your choice.

Have a look at my Gelert Lokon vario 6, its a tunnel tent so you can walk in and stand up naturaly in most of the tent, even the bedrooms, it has masses of space and like having a front lounge especially with all the windows on the sides which is great in bad weather, watching people cramped in there dome tents, we love it to bits, and you can get some good deals on the net for about £200 pounds for it
