Hi , well Im pretty new to this site as well and I have heeded some of the do's and dont's of what to buy, and last week we had a fab few days in Anglesey with our new tent, its a Gelert cyclone, sleeps six, comfortable, (3x doubles) and we picked it up from Halfords for 149.00, it should have been double the price before the sale. I am really impressed, we had plenty of room inside, we fitted 4 chairs, a table, cold box, the dog! us , and loads of other stuff in it and still had room, my other half said it would be handy to do an oil change on the car as you could have drove the car in side!!!!! The head room is about 7ft so even the tallest wont have many problems. We put it up in about 20 minutes, simple, and straight forward, the campsite we stayed on isnt listed so thats my next job, as it wwas great.........
OKay i went away did a _little_ bit of reading and decided for what we want we gonna have to pay a little more than we originally hopped. Been looking at the Wynnster Satelitte 6...seen the predicesor Serria 6 but noticed its not as good quality as the Satelitte. Has anyone got this tent OR a Wynnster tent or r they not that good? Can get one for £150. Next weekend we hopfully up to london to the Caravaning and Outdoor show so we can see the tents erected...does anyone know if they have special offers at all? never been to one ya see.

Check out the gelert appreciation society thread, seem like pretty happy folk to me.
I have the cadiz 5 for weekends and it's a great tent it has stood up to some bad winds (external I hasten to add.) I would think that the bigger gelerts would be ideal for you.
Why dont you concentrate on a tent that suits your needs for now because I can guarentee that
You are gonna start camping
You are gonna get hooked
You will start spending Sundays you are not away haunting the Outdoor Shops
You are gonna see tents you must have, either at above shops or on sites.
You will end up with at least 3 tents.
You cant fight this. It is normal camping behavour
Besides which, polyester tents do not have a very long life, even the top brands. To do with sunlight or something, so buying for the future may not be very wise. Worry about the patter of tiny feet when they start pattering.

Hello and welcome.
This seems good advice to me.
Why not settle for two sleeping compartment, for now, which will bring in a wider range of tents into your budget.
To save you some time, go onto outdoormegastore, (not plugging this firm, but their web site is easy to use), and look at tents for 3/4, or 4/5 people. Find a few you like, and then smurf around.
Best of luck, because it took us ages to find what we wanted for just the two of us.

Next door has a wynster satellite. they are very pleased with it. Stood up to torrential rain when others were floating past. They got it off the internet in last seasons colours. Went to see if I had a link and lost this post!

www.outdoorfocus.co.uk are great. Their website is easy to use. Free delivery on orders over £150? We bought a tent off them which we had to return and they were great. No fuss. We decided to stick with them and chose another tent which is great. Ask for discount and see what they say too as they were already well priced but knocked off another 10% on part of our order!
can somone please inform me of what make are the cheap tents and what are the good tents...i appreciate that some bigger brands have a cheaper version they control btu not sure who is who
