we are a forty something couple who are looking for a big roomy tent easy enough for us two (oldies) to erect!! we like to look out so lots of windows and room to stand up.  Any suggestions from any of you wise and experienced campers?

If it's windows you are wanting then the Monty would be the tent to go for.  Having used a Hartford I found it a little "Cave like" although it's certainly lighter than a diablo which was decidedly dark.

From what I can remember, although the Hartwell is fairly light in the living area, it's because it has useful skylights overhead(?), but if you're looking for something that you can stand up in throughout including the bedrooms, AND have somewhere you can sit inside but enjoy looking out the windows, then it has to be the Monty.  But that's only my view!

Hiya

My mother and father in law have the Montana 4 and they put it up in no time with no problem (of course this was after a few trips) and they are both late 50's so you should have no problem!

Hi

We have had an hartford L and now have the Monty 4, We prefer it because we can stand up in all of it, open windows and curtains, it has a SIG no earwigs or drafts, goes up in one and has a canopy, We would definately recommend the Monty 4. Im 47 and jon is 38, we are just putting ours in the car now and cant wait to get away for a couple nights, 1st camp without the kids.

10 out of 10 for the monty 6 out of 10 for the hartford L.

happy camping

Jon and Von
