Mandywem - having spend every camping trip last year with torrential rain at some point, the bathtub ground sheet gave me great peace of mind. Dont forget, its detachable, so should you be lucky enough to be camping in hot dry weather ( a phenomenon that I personally have never experienced!) you could do without it and feel the grass beneath your toes!!
