hi all who posted on this thread, our family visited a yeomans camp exhibition at wonderland farm park in farsnfield. I was adamant the hartford xxl was the tent for us until we saw the monty 6 ! We were taken aback by the living room space. It just goes to show that you really have to see the tents to appreciate them ! As soon as I get paid next tuesday one will be ordered !!!

Hi all and thanks for responding in the numbers you have done. We originally set our heart on the hartford xxl, then we saw the monty 6 and we wanted that one and then we saw the sun valley 8 sat next to the monty 6 and finally went for that one due to its spacious living area. Its a cracker of a tent and just fits on our back garden. We gave it a trial run last night with my daughter and loved it ! Its now drying out after the downpour we experienced last night !

Hey Matt, glad to hear you got fixed up with the tent. Can you tell me please, do the zips do up okay on your SV8, does the SIG sit down nicely (and not lift up on one side of the tent, or where it should not) and, as it has been in the rain, is there any sign of leaks anywhere inside?
There have been a few threads regarding quality issues with this tent, so just thought it would be interesting to hear if you have a perfect one.
Lastly, how long did it take to pitch, and are you happy with it?
Thanks.

Hi everyone, this is my first post and felt I had to reply to this one, I recently became interested in camping and we bought the hertford 9 berth from cyber checkout, forgive me but there seems to be some snobbery about buying something other then a vango, coleman etc and owners of these may notl ike to read this but our tent was easy to put up, waterproof and spacious, the delivery service from cybercheckout was also very good. After being a ukcs member for a couple of months now I have decided to speak out about our make of tent as it suits our needs and we cannot wait for next summer to get alot more use from it
ps ground shhet is only sewn in in bedroom pods with loose ground sheet in living area
i am pleased to see the people who bought from cybercheckout got a good deal.
i have been very tempted in the past (they sell loads of branded stuff really cheap) but their feedback is too dodgy for me to risk shopping with them. i know i would be one of the unlucky ones! However it isn't as bad as last time i looked and they do good deals on gazebos......
sig in the bedrooms only is fine for us ... it keeps out slugs ... but now i may have to worry about ants

Hey up Frances-
Thanks for your helpful nad positive account of this tent- it is good to hear from people with direct experience of all kinds of makes and models.
Overall, the views on these boards on the matter of various bargain ebay tents has been varied. Quite a few folks have found the cybercheckout tents to be fine for their needs, or have found them to be ok for a first try-out and then they have moved onto more sophisticated brands and styles. Some people have not been so lucky. And other ebay names such as Stormproof USA have had more decidely negative stories on here.
For some of us on here, the issue of reliability means that we will advise peeps to go for makes with a proven track record (in both quality and customer service) such as Vango, Gelert etc. Now I am not saying there are NO snobs on here - I cannot speak of the other 59,999 members with that degree of certainty, and I am sure that every group of people has its Hyacinth Bouquet types, but on the whole, people's suggestions are intended to be helpful, and it is a shame if you have experienced this as a put-down for your tent.
So thanks again for speaking up -and I wish you many more happy camping trips!
in response to Liddenham's post :L it took me about 1 hour to set up having absolutely zero knowledge on how to put a tent up ! it also took me 1/2 hour to get it down and roll it up. That might sound impressive till you see the size of the rolled up tent - its massive and is no way going back in the bag. I thought about steam rollering it ! I must search the posts for tips on getting the blighter back in the bag !
