Could you please advise as to whether the 2005 hartford XL model or 2006 hartford XL model is the best, we have just had a refund on the sun valley 8 after our second return of a faulty tent and considering the problems hartford have had this year with quality control I am wondering whether it would be a safer option to go for the 2005 model. any ideas thanks.

Personally, I would go for the 2005 model. Its got a hh of 5000 rather than 3000, also you get the poles for the front porch which I don't think you do with the 2006. Apart from that, I don't think there is much difference. I think Outwell have changed a few minor details - and you get an entrance mat now! The door design has changed, I prefer the old design. Either way, its a great tent. There have been loads of posts from happy XL owners - try a search.

We have a 2005 xxl and are very pleased with it, at our last campsite there was a 2006 model-which has lighter coloured material and when they had their lughts on inside you could see every ting from the outside ,yet with ours you couldn't.
