The Sunncamp Oasis is similar to the Vango Aspen except it is made with a mix of Alloy and Fibreglass poles rather than all steel. It was made only in 2006 in a 600 & 700 sizes. It is not in the range for 2007 and therefore should be available at a clearance deal if you can find one. It is made to the same quality as your present tent but is not a tunnel (as im sure youre aware).
Have a look at the new sunncamp eden 800 and global 600 both tunnels with sig to the fly eden is fibreglass poles and the global is steel framed. You can see these on www.swindoncaravans.com under the shop tab..buy tents...
Do you know why this model only survived a year,Was there something wrong with it. I like the size and the current price is very reasonable but I don`t want to buy it and then find out there was a design floor or something that made them discontinue this model.
i don't think there has bn any problems with them our camping shop have them in as we have bn looking at it.theres another one they have which is similar to the osais but a bit bigger is the wynster titan 8.have alook at united british caravans they also have them all on display but it just depends what area u r in this is in the north east

Sunncamp only ran the Oasis 600 and 700 for one year because correctly pointed out earlier in the thread it is very similar to the Vango Aspen, so similar Vango were very upset and I am reliably informed legal details were swapped!!!! As a result only a one year presence by Sunncamp on this tent. If you can find an Oasis it is a great tent.
we are also haveing tent size issues on a site we want to stay at and this fits just nicely without getting a surcharge added.might go for one many thanks
We bought the oasis 700 last year and it is a lovely tent. The large sleeping area is great for a young family and still has space for lots of luggage. The SIG is superb. We camped in the Dordogne last August when it was very wet in the evenings. Other tents were flooded out but we stayed nice and dry. The porch kept the tent clean as shoes and pushchair could be left out of the main tent. The tent itself stayed very clean and bug free. I would certainly recommend it as it is a lovely looking tent and very easy to put up.

i am more than tempted. Is the tent tent sturdy in windy rainy weather.i have a sunncamp day room and the poles look similar this was very sturdy when it was windy and rainey in dorset in 2005
Does the tent fold into one bag or does it become bulky i can imagine with the inner tent and fly sheet and poles. we have a trailer so tent bags and pole bags are not a problem
The tent is very sturdy. The tent survived a couple of massive thunderstorms in the Dordogne and did not move. It has lots of guy ropes if required and was windy - although we haven't used them.
The tent is in one bag and the poles are in another bag. It is very large - I cannot lift it but my husband can - thankfully. The only problem is that it is very high so you need to be quite tall when putting it up and quite strong as it is large and heavy - especially once all the poles are in and you have to lift it up to its full height. But it is a very attractive tent. The two of us can put it up in about 30-40mins as long as the children don't run over it. It is ideal for a two week holiday - I wouldn't like to put it up for a couple of nights - but that is just me. The design is great and I cannot fault it.
You cannot separate the bedrooms -it is only a curtain dividing the sleeping part into 3 areas - so if you want some privacy from the children you will not get it - but we have toddlers so suits us at the moment.
