We are looking into purchasing a new tent and are looking for around a 6 berth......
We have been looking on this site for the last few days and also viewing a few tents in person. We have narrowed it down to the Monty 6 or the Vango breckenridge....
Can anyone offer any info on these tents....there are a couple of things we are not too keen on with the 2006 model on the monty 6 (like the tabs they use to hold back the window blinds - seem very very flimsy) and also from what i gather off this forum is they had a few issues with the 2006 model......
Does anyone know the differences with the 2007 model....and have they rectified the issues with the leaks
I just read a post on here concerning the holes in the sig with the Breckenridge which is a very good point.....
unless anyone else can reccomend a good family tent.......considered the diablo 900 until we watched the video of it being erected.....
we want around a 6 berth ...with a fair bit of living space.........and relatively easy to put up......
Any advice would be brilliant........

Havent heard or seen that one.......will have a look at that one now.......Thank you.....Cost isnt so much an issue or weight but quality is as we are planning on using it at least 3 times this year....so what something which is going to last us a few years.........
Hi, like yourself we are looking into the Breckenridge. I'm awaiting some feedback from Vango around the pegging in the groundsheet issue, if there is any. Based upon recommendation here and suggestions; others that are on our list are the Outwell Vermont XL (though it looks dark online, I reserve judgement until seeing it for real), and I'm actually getting quite interested in the Outwell Sun Valley 8. Others on our list (until we've seen them in real life) are the Khyam XXL (Excelsior) and potentially the Tourer 600....
Easy erecting is still very important to us, especially for the shorter breaks....Like yourself, cost is not our main issue as hotel rooms are around £100 per night anyway, and our Chelsea Tractor :) take care of the space issues that people might find...
We have just bought the Khyam Ontario 8 which has 3 lovely big bedrooms and loads of living area. We're a family of 2 adults, 4 children aged 13, 10, 5 and 1 and a loopy dog, so needed something roomy but that didn't take forever to erect. It also packs down really small for such a big tent. They do a 6 berth if you don't want the extra space an 8 berth would give.
It is very quick and easy to put up - even our novice attempts had it up in 30 minutes and with practice we hope to get this down to about 15 minutes like our friends who also have the same tent and swear by it (one of the reasons we decided to buy one!)
Don't know if you have seen the other post about the Vango Breckenridge, but it is now confirmed that you don't have to peg through the SIG (like the video shows)....I don't have it (yet, but probably buy next weekend after another look) but that could be a very interesting option.
just bought a sunvalley8 and had a trial pitch very happy with it 2 adults and 2 boys 12 and 8 will remove the 2 berth and settle for the 2x3 berths giving loads of space, hope this helps
