As I was on a family Holiday last week in North Wales
In Rhos on Sea.
I went for a Ramble Amble Stroll .
From Colwyn Bay Pier
As It was Dry Sunny day ,with Sea breeze walked along the Seafront with a view of the lovely long Sandy beach
Upto the Lovely Coastal Town of Rhos on Sea
And the Harbour with It's New Promenade and Beautiful Sandy Beach along the Seafront
Marine Drive
To Penryhn Bay
Onto the Stoney Pebbles Beach
Then took a path going up the
Little Orme
Walked through the Old Quarry Works to the
remote Cove of Angel Bay
A Seal Sanctuary .
Over the Headland
to View the Beautiful Long Esplanade and Vista of Llandudno
Victorian Hotels and Colourful
Buildings .
Then down to the Long Wide Shared Promenade
then Upto the Cenotaph and Pier
And peruse the Cabin Shops on the Boardwalk
Then walked up to Marine Drive
To the Aptly Named
Happy Valley
To Sit and Look out at the Lovely Panoramic view of
Llandudno Bay .
A Grand Day out
Although This was a Nice Ramble along the Seafronts of North Wales
It was also a test of Fitness
As Two Months ago
I was In Hospital for ten Days
For a Life Saving Operation
Called C.A.B.G
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
Commonly known as Triple Heart Operation .
So as I've been building myself up Physically and Walking four miles
a day .
I decided to Stretch out
And Give myself a good Test
So I walked from Colwyn Bay
To Llandudno
And covered 10 Kilometres
So It's a good start
Well done! And best wishes for your continued return to the best of health.
I was self catering with friends near Llandudno a few years ago: isn’t it the town with wild goats wandering around, eating the hedges?
Many Thanks Fiona W
For your good wishes .
I'm doing quite well with my recovery
Thanks to the Brilliant NHS Cardio department at Wythenshawe Hospital
Manchester .
Yes Llandudno is the place well Noted for The Wild Goats who come down from their Natural Habitat on the Rocky outlets on the Great Orme .
Last time We seen them
Was up near the Summit of the Orme
Where the Tram and Cable car go .
Your ramble was a real blast from the past, Zigzag.
We regularly used to have family holidays at LLandudno many, many years ago (60 plus!) and so I am familiar with all the places you mention.
Best wishes for your continuing recovery!
Many Thanks bofs for your Best Wishes for my Recovery
Very Glad my Ramble
Brought Back Happy Holiday Memories of
Llandudno in the Past .
We Love North Wales and All along the Coast .
So Much to see and do .
As we have been on lots off Holidays over many years Also .
Our Favourite place Is Rhos On Sea
It's like It's stopped In Time .
So Relaxing , Lovely Promenade
With Lovely Sandy Beach
And Lots of lovely Shops and Cafes to Peruse .
Like you bofs .
As the song says .....
" Living In The Past "
Happy Days
Thank you Mrs. Bonce
For wishing me good luck with my recovery .
Yes the Goats from the Great Orme
Became Notorious .
A Number of years ago .
They wandered around all the Streets in Llandudno .
Caused a lot of problems and Stopped traffic
And went in Gardens to graze on Foliage
There where local towns people that wanted them to be located away to the Wilder Mountainous Areas of Remote Parts of North Wales .
But they are still roaming the rocky outcrops of the Great Orme .........
One of the Best walks I went on was Around the Great Orme
started at the Pier.
The up the pathway past the Grand Hotel .
Past The Beautiful park
Called Happy Valley .
On up Marine Drive .
To Look back at the Panoramic view of Llandudno
Out to the Little Orme .
Passing all the Rocky outcrops with Goats balancing precariously above the Waves .
Carried on to Pass a Castellated building on a ledge .
Then came to the Aptly Named
Cafe
"Rest and Be Thankful"
The Views of The Irish Sea
Along on and on the windey Marine Road
Started to Descend
With Spectacular Views
Of the Conway Estuary and Castle .
With Snowdonia in the Distant Background
And Looking out to Sea
The Beautiful Island of Anglesey and Puffin Island
On down to arrive at West Shore
With it's lake on the Green and Lovely Sandy Beach
Then across the Road passing all the hotels and holiday property's
Then follow the Road Northerly back to the Seafront
And Landmark of the Cenotaph
And Back to Llandudno Promenade .
After a six mile Walk
Lovely Views and Scenery
And Memorable day out
Hopefully the weather was better for your walk than we've had recently.
With the strong winds you'd have risked being blown off the Orme, got drenched in the downpours and the views would have been non-existent!
