When I was in air cadets in the early 80's, the MoD was getting rid of all their old canned ration packs & replacing them with plastic packs. Something to do with them all dating from the 1960's I suspect! We used to love the sweets. You got a can with Cadbury's Tiffin bars & Spangles (we hadn't seen them since the 70's). The bacon burgers looked awful caked in lard, but tasted great. The main meals were variable. The curry was nice.
US ration packs were very civilised. They had packets of chewing gum, hand wipes, toilet paper, salt & pepper as well as a plastic spoon in case you lost your own.
I once won some Wayfarer meals in a charity raffle. They are made by Westlers, the firm who make canned hamburgers & hotdogs where the main ingredient isn't meat... They were vile & ended up out of use by date so I threw them out. Probably for the best.
Corned beef hash,
1 x can of corned beef/dog
1 x carrot
1 x potatoe
1 x onion
1 x oxo cube
1 x can beans
Chop all the lumps up. Bung in pot. Add a bit of water. Cook for 15 - 20 mins. Eat. Boil water + Fairy liquid in pot for washing up. Job's a goodun.
I did my dofe about 5 years ago and took, pasta, uncle bens sealed packets of rice that have sauce already on them, any of these types of sealed packets are good as they are light, supernoodles are good. Just go to the rice/noodles section and you will see loads of these packets type meals. Cuppa soups are good and nutritious cereal bars are great for breakfast and they are light. Hope that helps :)

Hopefully Menu D comes supplied with the missing comma, because "Pork Casserole with Treacle Pudding" doesn't sound good.
The pork casserole is actually pretty good, without necessarily tasting of anything in particular. And the treacle pudding....
Well. The treacle pudding is something else ! It sticks to your teeth, your tongue, your throat, and dear know what else. You can feel yourself still eating it hours later. There is so much sugar in it that you feel that you can fly better than Superman. Warning !! - Do not feed to hyper children !! This is a lesson in how to cram zillions of calories into a little brick the size of a packet of fags !!
