I don't 'do' stately homes either Anne but I do like gardens. My wish for a NT membership was sparked last summer while on my travels round Norfolk and I inadvertently ended up in the grounds of a stately home - I thought while I was there I would have a look round the gardens but it was one fee for parking and another fee for the gardens so I didn't bother staying. With a NT membership I could have had both for free

I think the NT is great value for money,we have a a family membership and in 1 week in the Lakes over half term the membership fee virtualy paid for its self with entrance fee's and car parking

Also agree the National museum of childhood is a great day out for all the family

We had membership a couple of years ago and enjoyed it but we don't really get the chance to get out and about to visit places so we didn't renew.

As and when we get more time I can see us joining again, I'd also join if I lived near to NT beaches as it avoids the parking charge.

Hi yes theres a good place depending where you live at Formby point free parking for NT members plenty of "marked" walks and dog friendly just over an hour away for us...............
